Looking for a thread started by a dad

That was me. I am happy to report that my son is back playing football, basketball, and soccer. After much prayer and hard work on his part, his last PFT at the drs. was 114. (He had actually dropped into the upper 40s). We have since purchased 2 spirometry pieces of equipment - one for him and...

Hello all, I just wanted to share some good news regarding my son. As I shared back in the spring He had a major drop in FEV1 (over 50% drop at its worst) and the Drs. were never able to identify the cause. The drop lasted from early December thru the spring. After a lot of prayer and hard work...

HELP - Major drop in fev1

They have tested for fungus and not found any. They treated him for it anyway with no improvement. On a more positive note at yesterday's visit to the clinic he was up to 96 on his pft. His baseline is 119 so he still has a way to go , but seems to be on the path to full recovery - which is what...

HELP - Major drop in fev1

We are in the same house we've been in since he was born. I've never seen mold or smelled it. We do not have any pets. I will peruse the allergy testing. The did prescribe a reflux med that we're supposed to take when he starts high dose ibuprofen - we're just waiting for it to arrive. My...

HELP - Major drop in fev1

When I say they released him I mean from the hospital. They were done with treatments. So we went to another for a second opinion not accepting that this was a new baseline. All records were sent. Our home clinic knew we were seeking a second opinion- they even helped set it up. The other cf...

HELP - Major drop in fev1

I believe they have tested for mycobacteria. We were told that some of the results can take long to come back, but what has come back is normal flora. He seems to feel normal, and even is participating in his indoor soccer. Yesterday he ran 1 mile without stopping. He is breathing more rapidly...
