Hello all. I've been doing a lot of research on bactiophage therapy.

Check out these links if you are unfamiliar.

After researching this for 6 months, talking to many pulmonologists, I am convinced that this is a VERY effective potential therapy that is only being kept down by a profit driven medical system.

I am an organizer for a political non-profit focused on environmentalism, but it is time for some patient activism.

It is clear that it is up to the patients to get the ball rolling.

What can you do?

-Talk to your doctors about bacteriophage therapy. Are they aware of it? Are they interseted in doing clinical studies for it? The biggest argument against it is there are no clinical studies being done right now, as it is has been declared as GRAS (generally regarded as safe) by the FDA.

-Contact the CF Foundation. Tell them you are interested in this. They need to know people have an interest in this therapy because they will most likely be the ones funding this study. It won't come from Big Pharma.

-Do a case study. Your doctor can monitor you administering this new therapy (if you can find it). Right now it seems only to be available in Georgia and Poland. Keep in mind this is an untested medicine and there are risks involved.

-Get involved. I'll be starting a crowdsourcing program to get this medicine available to those who may want it. Are you interested? Contact me at lief.kaiser@gmail.coim

That's awesome bookworm. I'll look into that. WHen I contacted CFF, they said they were unaware of any phage studies being conducted. Thanks for the tip.
