Disney DAS Cards

We're planning a trip next year to Disney and wondered if anyone has used the new DAS cards. We understand that with new cards, if there is an excessive wait time, we'd be given a return time, similar to a fast pass. And that we also need to describe why we may need said card rather than just indicating ds has CF.

I wonder how the new card work as well. We are going to disney in November. The last time we went to Disney, the cf clinic wrote us letters. One was for the park pass and one for the airlines. The letters explained about cf and why it was important to have a pass.

Guest assistance doesn't look at the letters, just explain what your needs are and it's just to be used to get a return time if lines are excessively long. It's my understanding people who used wheelchairs, electric carts are told they don't need the DAS because all things are accessible. We didn't use the GAC excessively in the past, just for Soarin, Test Track and Toy Story Mania where waits were 60-75 minutes and no fast passes available. Our justification was we'd never make the early morning hours where it's not as busy due to morning vest and neb. Just wondering if anyone has used it since the new systems been in place

A friend just got back, and said the DAS card worked wonderfully. Just stopped at the first park and explaned her childs disability and what he would have problems with. The card worked at all parks then also, no need to stop at each guest relations. You can use it in conjunction with the fast passes that are alloted each day for you and your family nembers. You can only have one return time for an attraction. Unlike the fast pass, if you get back after the 1 hr. Window time, they will stii honor it. Return times with the DAS is 10 minutes less the attraction wait time, amd if wait time is less than 10 minutes, you are sent through the fast pass entrance without waiting.
we are actually going again next september. We have always used the guest assistance card, not so much for the cf, but because of his autism. Waiting is not a strong suit for him, so this was a must for us.
have you tried the moms panel on the disney wirld website? You can find answers to most of your questions, and if you dont see it, you can ask a question, and someone will get back to you.
hope this helped a little.

The new DAS card is by no means a no wait card-no such card exists now. It has your picture on the front, and lines on the back for cast members to write a time slot window for you to return. So what we do is, go to the attraction, get a return time window, (it is usually giving you a full hour window to return in), then go do another ride or snack while waiting. If you have the disney app on your phone you can see all the rides by wait time and find the closest one to you with a short wait. If you are staying on disney property, your park ticket will allow you to pre select reservations for 3 rides a day with no wait. So, we have found between that and the help of the DAS card, with some planning we can hit quite a few things in a day, and not exhaust mommy.
The card helps because instead of getting there at 9 am-waiting all day on my feet, rushing to the next thing..we can plan, rest in the morning, get there by noonish, and be back at the hotel at a reasonable hour. We also don't feel the need to see and do it all. Taking our time and just doing the highlights gives us all a relaxing time without over doing it.
Happy travels :)

We just got back from vacation. Love the new magic bands which can be used instead of paper fast pass cards or ticket cards. Don't have to dig in my wallet or pocket for park admission, charging items, fastpasses and hotel room access. Signed up online for our 3 daily fastpasses; however, some of the more popular rides fp's weren't available -- 7 dwarves mine ride and toy story mania and standby wait times were 90-120 minutes. So for us the DAS card was great. Got a return time for the ride and either grabbed a bite to eat or hit other rides.
