Vinegar in sinus saline rinses ?!

I have read elsewhere that some docs or ENTs have suggested to some people to put vinegar in their sinus saline rinse ... I have Pseudos. Aerug. btw. Can anyone here tell me more like for example : does it sting, does it really work, any side effects, quantity of vinegar for a 240 ml bottle, is it recommended with double salt or better with a single dose, is vinegar bought in a Supermarket ok meaning is it sterile (if not, should we boil the vinegar), how many times a day, how many days or weeks, if at night it drips down in the lungs is it dangerous, etc..

RDT.

I think I tried apple cider vinegar once. I don't remember what happened, but it obviously didn't sting enough to leave a lasting memory!

Huh, that is interesting. I've been wondering what other ENT's have suggested in sinus rinses, as mine has recommended Johnson's baby shampoo twice a week in mine to break down the biofilm that CFers have. I wonder what the objective of vinegar is?
