Sadly, Alice Martineau, the singer who had a contract with Sony Music died yesterday morning. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">she was a real inspiration to me because she set out and achieved her goal of releasing an album, despite being on the triple transplant list. for those of you who havent heard of her her website is www.alicemartineau.com and i think sony put out a really nice statement. may she rest in peace.Angel

Yes AngelI was very shocked when I read the news on the cf2chat site about Alice. I live in Florida USA and just received her CD "Daydreams" She was brilliant with her lyrics and her voice was sparkling clear. She must have really put up a CF fight to stay alive and have all the quality years that she did have. I am happy that she did live a full life and had accomplished her goals. I just wish she was here with us for much longer. I wanted to buy more of her CD's. If you can buy her CD on amazon I would. What a nice tribute that would be for letting her voice live on with all of us.I agree that Sony wrote beautiful words about Alice. I really hold them in high regard. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I am just as upset as if I lost a close to friend with CF. It is like we all are related in someway. My feelings are the same with all friends with CF.SincerelyRisadouble lung tx 1.21.96

Hello. I never heard of Alice (unfortunitely) until I read your post and then I went on her web site. I was very touched by it all and even listened to her video on there several times. I have to admit I was upset. Anyway, I then went on line to find some record/music places and I could not find her CD. -- Risa, where did you purchase it? I definitely want to buy one and play her music. I agree with you. What an inspiration she seemed to have been. Let me know.Monique

For those in the UK who may have missed this programme first time around, it is being shown again tonight. BBC3, 01.30 (the early hours of Wednesday morning, 9 July). I know that Alice didn't like to be thought of as 'brave', but her life story is one of courage and has to be a great inspiration to all. I'm listening to Daydreams right now.

We were very shocked to hear the news about alice. The first time we heard her sing was in our music lesson at school when we saw the programme, the nine lives of Alice Martineau, and we send our love to her family and friends. She was a good inspiration to us and realise that dreams can come true if you try hard enough. Well done Alice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
