my name is nicholas, i am 18 yrs old. i am deaf. i'm from ireland. there is a deaf girl i know have cf and she is 19. she had a transplant when she was 9. anyway i was wondering is there anyone who is deaf and cf? i just like to knows. thanks! think postive people

Aweeeee Nicholas...im so sorry sweetie. Im Brandi, im 14 and i have CF...im guessing you speak threw sign-language yes? i used to take that class..i dont know the signs but i got the letters pretty good...Ive never heard of anybody who had CF and was deaf...thats horrible, im so sorry <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> does the girl you mentioned live next to you? i hope she does...keep you company...if i was there id keep you company <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

hey brandi, ah i am fine of being deaf. i am not tat deaf if u must know. i ve great family to support. we get on well. no unfortnately she live far away, but we do meet up in place called dublin, we go to boardering school. so thanks for erm.... sharing with us. keep in post

My son is deaf we just found out Monday he is 6 months old. I have always questioned if he could hear right because he does not respond to sound. They said the testing showed he may hear some out of his right ear. He and his 2 year old brother both have CF.

i am partial deaf so i could hear with help of hearing aids. i only wear one hearing aid but i was told to wear two hearing aids as it could improve my hearin but i find it difficult to hear right if i wear 2 so i only wear one, without hearing aid, i could hear sound but it's not great, i would hear like vibrate from mobile on wood table, it made awful noise and i respone to it without hearing aids. or people talking in quiet time especially in morning cos it's quiet in morning right? so i could hear people talking but i wouldn't understand what they are saying. just hear sound of talkin, hard to explain though. i dunno if your son could hear or not, in ireland where i am living present, i only know one deaf girl who has cf, she is 19, she is partial deaf but her voice is low, hard to hear her talking. so that all!!! if i was suppose to answer your question, pls feel free to ask! i may take time to reply as i am not on for 24/7 lol so god bless

No? was just responding to your post because my son is hearing inpaired and has CF. His father has a bad ear and my mother is hearing impaired so it wasn't much of a suprise when they told me the baby does not hear.

I have a friend...also W/CF and she is def in one ear due to the antibiotics she was taking. Tobramycin is one of the major ones that can cause this.

I'm not Deaf.... but I'm an American Sign Language student in college. I'm in my second year out of four. So I'm not fluent (yet), but I'm doing pretty well.
