    Newly diagnosed 23 year old

Hello, Just wanted to tell you that my daughter was diagnosed at age 19. She is 32 now, married and feeling well. Ratatosk is right, the first thing you need to do is get affiliated with an adult CF clinic. They will give you tools to get your lungs up to their optimum level of functioning...

    Late/mild diagnosis?

Similar story My daughter was diagnosed at 19 while she was away at University. Her story sounds a lot like yours. She thought she had a wicked cold. The university clinic did a chest X-ray and couldn't understand why someone so young could have such bad "pneumonia". Sent her to emerg. The...

Thanks everyone for your input. Now we have the next weather-related issue (snow!). Amber hates winter because she can never get warm. Is that a CF thing too, or just because of having hardly any body fat to keep her warm?

Thanks! So, you don't think the relative humidity matters? That makes me feel a bit better because we are driving ourselves crazy trying to keep the humidity in the house down but still enjoy fresh air. I like your signature quote! Nancy

    Humidity

Hello, I read somewhere (not sure where!) that humidity below 50% is best for CF'ers. Is that true? Is that why my daughter (at age 20) had a terrible time with uncontrollable coughing while we were in Mexico for a week? Does the severity of the CF have a bearing on whether or not humidity...
