I would highly suggest asking about and getting the vest. My Alyssa was impossible, we could only get in physio if we carried her in our arms and did the pounding with the other arm -- twelve minutes felt like hours and my arms were super tired. Otherwise she'd cry, scream and freak. The vest has been such a help for our life.

An other thing that worked for us before we got the vest or when I want to do manual PT, we bought a big exercise ball and I sit her on it. She bounces up and down, like a trampoline, and I do basic pats. But the PT told us, even just the bouncing would be sufficient for physio -- that in many countries CFers get trampolines for their PT.

I don't have any hints. Just wanted to let you know I am right there with you. Our three year old does not like to sit still. Luckily we are in the process of getting a vest.

Before getting the Vest, we did some of the things that others have mentioned. We let them pick their show/video to watch, look at books, etc.

We had an excerise ball, like Heather mentioned. And my girls would just lay over the ball, and I would hold it steady with my feet while I did their Love Pats (that is what we called CPT when my girls were little). We also had a blow up wedge that they gave us at clinic when there were really little, and they would lay on that while doing Love Pats.

It was nice to just give them options...other than to do them or not. It was HOW do you want to get your Love Pats tonight?

Don't worry, this too shall pass<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Our three year daughter fortunately is really active, so we incorporate that into her treatments. She basically never sits still for very long - which is wonderful! Exercise is one of the best forms of physio you could do. She also loves bouncing on the bed, which doesn't do the beds very good, but does wonders for her lungs! She also loves dancing, jumping up and down, you name it she'lll have a go. When she has a cold, we increase the physio, especially at bed time, which she loves, which helps her off to sleep. We've been through rough and crazy times, still do loads, but believe me this time will pass. You'll all be fine.

Take care.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
