2nd hand smoke in Las Vegas?

Question for anyone who has been to Las Vegas, specifically the Wynn Hotel: my husband's brother is getting married in Las Vegas next summer and we are trying to decide if it is a wise idea to travel to the wedding because of the very high chance of exposure to second hand smoke in the Vegas environment. My hubby is extremely sensitive to any cigarette/cigar smoke, even in quick, small quantities (it will cause him to have hemoptysis, possibly massive). Of course, we REALLY want to attend the wedding (it's going to be a big, fancy affair at the five star Wynn hotel, not a cheesey Elvis chapel!), but not at the risk of his health.

His brother & fiance have checked it out and have found a 'back entrance' that they say kind of bypasses the casino area off the lobby and therefore is smoke free, but I'm not sure how truly smoke-free that might be.

We definitely would not fly into the Vegas airport because we experienced that about 4 years ago and they were allowed to smoke all over the place (inside little plastic cubicles with slot machines throughout the terminal that didn't even have full walls built around them).

So, bottom line: has anyone (who is also senstive to smoke) been to Vegas, the Wynn Hotel, or any other hotel that they would consider truly smoke-free?? (obviously we won't be able to go out gambling because of the smoking inside the casinos, but we would at least just like to get to the wedding).

Thanks for any help!

I was in Las Vegas 2 weeks ago and stayed at The Bellagio. I visited The Venetian, Luxor and Treasure Island. I definitely noticed the smoke when walking through the casinos and anticipate that your husband would be effected. Just entering through a lobby area was not a problem. The only thing is that the hotels are designed to intentionally force you into the casino and the smoke can not be avoided there.

I did not notice smoking at the airport but it was definitely a problem when waiting in taxi lines.

I hope that helps you make a decision!

Go, go, go to this wedding! It sounds so fun!
Just wear a mask on the plane, on the casino floor & anywhere you might feel at risk.

I found this great mask online. It was also recommended by some dude from the Lung Assoc. so it's good. Here's it's stats:

N95 Health Care Particulate Respirator and Surgical Mask

NIOSH-certified, unique flat-fold/three panel design, highest level of fluid and splash resistance and reduces wearer's exposure to airborne particles. Bacterial filtration efficiency greater than 99%. Latex free.

The best price I could find was at:
http://www.allheart.com/3m1870.html
$21.99 ea (per box of 20)

These masks are not usually carried in stores because there is not a big demand for them, so you have to go to special medical supply stores or websites.

I just got my masks today. THEY ARE AWESOME!
They're comfortable and easy to breathe in.
Get 'em & have a great trip!!!!!

Just got back from Mandalya Bay. There is no smoking in the airport any longer. Did not have problems anywhere in the hotel except the casino.
