3 month wait list for TX !!!

I have read how some of you have been desperately waiting for your transplant and waiting for such a long time. Well, I thought I should let other CFers know that the center I will be getting TX at, Tampa General Hospital in FL, has an average of 3 months waiting time! That is super short! They have been doing double lung transplants for about 5 years and really kicked it up in the last 3 years doing about 40 last year. They are Medicare approved too. The CF doctor, Dr. Rolfe, is also the lung transplant coordinator which is great to have. He is a wonderful, knowledgable, caring, and even funny doctor. He truley has a desire to see Cfers take a new breath of life. Even though the center is newer to lung tx, they have had great outcomes. I can also say from experience that the hospital is VERY nice! I couldn't believe I was actually in a hospital b/c it was so much nicer that what I had been in before. I even had a view of downtown Tampa and the waterway. I even saw Dolphins, fish, and rays swimming by while I was there! If you have any questions, please ask! I think this could be a great answer for so many people.

hey, i am a mpm with a cfer who just found out he needs trandplant, you know first the eval and then decide when right? anyway who has heard of the center in seattle? that is where we need to go for his in the next year i guess, whenever my son decides to get on the list. anyway i want to figure out what the wait is for us?? this is all so crazy and new, my son wont even want one until he graduates high school. he just started getting sicker and goes in every month now? wow, i hate it!!!! anyway talk to me thatis why i am here...love and care for all who have cf...what a crazy disease.
