I wanted to know if any of you know an excellent asthma specialist in the new york city area. The cf clinics can only do so much with severe asthma issues. Need to have someone who really understands asthma and all it's complications. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Thats not necessarily true. Cf doctors are mainly looking at infection due to Cf issues. For people with unusually debilitating asthma, finding a good immunologist can be important. They look into the underlying causes of allergy and asthma, which may or may not be related to classic Cf symptoms.
I would also appreciate feedback on Cfers that have used specialists for asthma or immunologists, especially in the NY area.

I've been pleased with this practice in NJ. I see Dr. Graffino for allergies and like her a lot--you can scroll through the drs in that link. The staff are really nice too.

National Jewish in Denver, co is at the forefront of allergy/immunology I believe, and may be worth a consult visit. They are geared to taking out of state patients.

Asthma/reactive airways, allergies, irritants that aren't allergens, gerd, viral and bacterial infections--they're interwoven with cause and effect, and it is hard- to say the least- to tease out what is going on.

You said it! Thats it. Its very hard to pinpoint exact causes.

Thank you for the tip, I will look into them.
