Avent IQ

I know there are threads about this. I am FED up with sterilizing on the stove top. I just need to do something different. I want to get an Avent IQ bottle sterilizer. I know that some of you like it. When I order this, do I need to make sure that it is one that is BPA FREE or are they always BP free? Sometimes it states that specifically and other times that is not listed. I just wonder if there are older models that are not BPA free. Are they referring to the bottles OR the actual equipment and does that really matter??

Do you guys like this as a way to sterilize. It is pretty expensive and I just want to make sure I am making the right move.

I love my Avent IQ I'm not sure about different BPA free models; I'll have to check the box on mine when I get home. I think it was around $100 at Babys R Us, and I think it was a great investment...very quick and efficient.

You have to wash the nebs with soap/water, then sterilize them in the Avent...it keeps them sterile for up to 6 hours, so you don't have to use them right away or anything.

I love it! I know the CFF just approved something similar (NUK?)that might be cheaper than the Avent...I don't have experience with that one though, but I think they are very similar.

I just bought the Avent IQ24 on Amazon for about 74.00 with free shipping. Now I look, and it's 68 something -- good deal.

Here's the link:

It hasn't arrived yet but I'm sure I'm going to like it based on everyones comments on the NUK posting. There was a recent post about the NUK where people also talked about the Avent. I don't remember what they were now, but it seemed like there were some advantages to the Avent. I think the Avent has a larger capacity. Avent has an electric model and I microwave model - I went for the electric so I don't need to worry about having a microwave when I'm traveling. Check out that post, it was informative.
