Avent IQ

I know there are threads about this. I am FED up with sterilizing on the stove top. I just need to do something different. I want to get an Avent IQ bottle sterilizer. I know that some of you like it. When I order this, do I need to make sure that it is one that is BPA FREE or are they always BP free? Sometimes it states that specifically and other times that is not listed. I just wonder if there are older models that are not BPA free. Are they referring to the bottles OR the actual equipment and does that really matter??

Do you guys like this as a way to sterilize. It is pretty expensive and I just want to make sure I am making the right move.

Some of the Avent sterilizers come as a 'bundle pack' with bottles; I would assume they are referring to the bottles when they specify BPA-free since the BPA is something that used to be a component of the plastics used to make (among other things) baby bottles and sippy cups.

We have one of these (my mom took advantage of a great deal on Drugstore.com) and I LOVE IT!

eta> ok, upon further investigation the newer model of the sterilizer itself is also completely BPA-free (i.e. the plastic trays you put everything on.) Given the choice I would buy that model, yeah... since you won't pay any more for that one and it is potentially better for you. I think it's worth the investment, personally.

I just ordered one. I had a gift card and used it for that I am excited to get it though. With the new Cayston, I just need one. I have been sterilizing 3x/day on the stove and I am just "fed up" with it....FED UP The e-flow just needs something like this to sterilize regularly. This just makes sense to use. THANKS for your reply.

You're welcome! I think you will be happy with it. It's so easy for me to use this; it sits on the counter and you only need to add water to it once every 24hrs- it will turn itself on automatically every 6hrs and you can switch it on 'as needed' during that time as well. It is especially coming in handy right now with Emily being sick and going through extra nebs like crazy! I throw the sinus rinse bottle parts in there too.
