Bloating

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote><i>Originally posted by: <b>MCGrad2006</b></i> @ Swallowtail...hahaha. Just a little update on my belly situation. I started Lactulose a week ago (and it hasn't done much). I also GREATLY reduced my cheese intake and popcorn (two of my weaknesses). Also, after reading this post a few days ago, I started Probiotic pills. My stomach aches are better, but I still feel HUGELY bloated at times throughout the day. I think my next step is to try and stop eating gluten...that will not be easy! I feel like if I give up gluten and dairy, there isn't much left that I can eat. But I am also thinking I may be able to add cheese back in...so maybe add that and subtract gluten. I don't know.</end quote>

You can do it <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">. A while ago I was eating mostly vegan because I wanted to see if that helped with bloating and I found it surprisingly easy to do, as lon as you stick to whole foods (not the store, sheesh... lol). That way there's no reading labels and standing in grocery aisles like a creeper <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">. You say, "Hmmm, an apple. does that have dairy/gluten? Nope!"
Have you tried any milk alternatives? Almond milk is great (a little pricey)

I've been off gluten for 10 days now and I'm feeling very well!
It's been really easy, actually. I eat corn and rice crackers, and have made a delicious gluten-free bread on the bread machine. For pasta, I've found corn and rice substitutes (the cheapest, at the Asian grocery store!). I eat rice and potatoes, lots of veggies, and meat/fish/chicken/eggs once a day. I've reduced the diary intake (not eliminated because I'm a cheese addict) to one serving a day.
And BLOATING IS GONE.
More importantly, I want to see what happens with my lung inflammation! I have PFTs scheduled for June 18th. Excited!
Go for it, give it a try! It's really not that hard! (unless you're addicted to buying ready-made meals rather than from scratch, but I cut that off ages ago, when noticing hydrogenated oils made me bloated too).
Happy greetings!
