Calling all diabetics...

I have been diabetic for over a year and on insulin for almost as long. Just this last week however, I have actually been hypoglycemic WITHOUT insulin. I have been getting readings of 60's to low 70's for the entire day. Needless to say, I have been holding my nightly Lantus (I think it has been about 4 days now). Last week, my sugars were in the 300's range and now they are too low. I wonder if my pancreas is just kicking in its last bit of insulin production before it returns to my usual highs. I just think that this is really odd considering I have been on insulin nonstop for some time now. Hmmm...any input would be great. I am definitely going to run this by my doc too to see what she thinks. The only time that my sugars did drop now that I think about it was when I had a really nasty infection, but it never lasted for days on end though. Hugs to all, Jenn

LOL AnD!! You crack me up! I am just so puzzled by this..I checked my sugars about an hour ago (like I do every night) and it was 51!! I feel jittery too, so I did eat a snack. I have been scouring the web for an explaination of this. This has happened before, but not for more than a day at a time like yourself. Years ago, about 10 years, I actually was diagnosed as hypoglycemic. For quite some time, my sugars were never above 60 and got as low as 38 (that was after I ate a bunch of candy...apparently my body over secreted insulin in response to the flood of carbohydrates. I believe my doctor called that reactive hypoglycemia.) Then as abruptly as it began, my sugars normalized and remained there for years until my sugars climbed upwards as high as 500 last year. So so wierd..
