I just wanted to give a shout out to all the others out there that slice their fingers opening Cayston vials. How many times a have you done it? I just did my 4th centimeter long gash in a year. I think I'm going to keep a running tally!
Score:Cayston 4 Thumb 0

Hahaha! Count me in the club
I thought I was the only one! I think they need to make the vials a little easier for us because those vials are sharp (it's almost like a miniature version of the top of an aluminum can). I have been on about 3 rounds of Cayston at this point and I have slit my finger probably 2 times per round. That makes 6 for me!

I also started a thread on this when it was first approved. I couldn't believe it was approved with this packaging. The peoplet that participated in the clinical trial said they never commented on it b/c they thought it was packaging just for the trial. Always speak up people!

Yeaaaaa....I was in the trials. I am pretty sure I said something along the lines of "When it gets approved will it still have this packaging?" And the coordinators just shoved the comment aside saying "Yes they don't/can't change it at this point." So yes, I have been getting these cuts now for about 6 years. Do I win an award? Athough, I do have to say, it gets better. At first, it was really bad, I think they did change some aspect of it. I would actually bleed at the beginning. Now its more like my skin is peeling.

They want to switch my daughter from tobi to cayston since the tobi hasn't been doing much more than keeping the infection at bay. Which one's better in your opinion?

I think Cayston is the best, PERIOD.
I'm in the finger slicing club, too. But I'll gladly take those little nicks if I can keep the Cayston coming! That stuff is awesome

I think Cayston is the best for me...but I suppose it just depends on bugs and such. I feel so tight with Tobi and feels like everything gets sticky. Cayston doesn't do that to me.

Good luck!

Oh I hate those tops - besides getting somebody else to open them, I've ended up using my teeth - not ideal.

The only other thing I've figured out is to carry a staple remover with me - that tends to work pretty well when nothing else does!!
