I am kind of just throwing this out there...lol. I was in the AZLI trial and I believe part of my compensation was determined by the hospital, for parking and just general hassle type issues I had to deal with (because I had to go into Boston).

But otherwise, I would have thought it would be the company conducting trial...interesting question though.

When I did the TOBI powder trial about 5 years ago, it was the company who compensated me. I don't know how they figured how much to pay for it but I do remember that I had to be at the lab all day (from like 7:30 in the morning to like 8 at night) and I was sent a $150 check about a week or so later. That is the only trial that I ever did so I don't know how other ones work.
