compressor question

so my neb compressor is doing this weird thing. i turn it on, after it has been sitting for awhile (like when i first start my treatment), and it starts out kind of slow. then after 20 seconds or so it will kick into gear (don't know how else to describe it) to normal speed and start nebbing my meds properly.

this machine is less than two months old. my last one died on me after less than a year. i'm so fed up with Pari these days! anyway, do you think this "slow speed" at the onset of treatment is a sign my machine is slowly dying? and why are these machines such pieces of crap anyway??

I just got my new one last week, because I was having exactly the same problem with my Ultra II, and at about the same time (around 2 months). The lady I spoke to about getting an under warranty replacement for my Ultra (and who sent me the Ultra II) sent out a UPS pickup slip for the "new" Ultra II that was messed up, and sent me another one at the same time (handed UPS the old one, the driver handed me the new one ). So I am thinking it may be an issue they are having with a batch of these. I've sent you a pm .

I have had this problem too. I've already returned one and now the new one is doing it too. I'm so glad to here they did that for you Andee. I complained about their process and it seems they are doing something about it :) They wanted me to send mine in for inspection and then they'd send me a new one. When I asked what I was supposed to do in the meantime while mine was "in the shop." They said to contact my cf center and get a loaner - yuck!! I talked with her boss and filed a complaint. I have since persued getting a different brand compressor all together b/c it's a new year and I can get a new one each year. I'll still get this one replaced though. I like to have backups.

lauren,

i thought the same thing when the pari rep told me to call my cf clinic for a replacement -- gross! that is the last place on EARTH i would want to borrow a neb compressor from. put on your thinking cap, people!! (i had a good experience renting one from a respirtory supply store, but i made sure to wipe it down with alcohol as soon as i got it.)

i'm glad if pari is universally changing their shipping practices as they made no sense. i know it's not "their problem" for us to go without a neb, but really it's just better customer service to make sure we have one at all times since our health is KINDA dependent on nebbing.

in their defense, they have always actually been quicker getting me a new one than they said they would be. but i don't want to defend them more than that.

i am obviously fed up with pari, too. and i will switch to another brand in a heart beat even if it means i have to pay out of pocket. i'd like to get another soon, anyway, so i'd have two working ones (not counting my trek which i'm told i shouldn't use for tobi) just in case. my insurance pays for a new compressor every 3 years, so i'm quite used to paying for them out of pocket.

i think i'll go for a devilbiss next time. these pari's are pieces of crap. boo!
