My daughter 6yrs ( who will be admitted for the 8th time this year) and my other daughter 4yrs (2nd since October) are going to be admitted the 1st week in January. I am trying to stay strong for my family and and children, but it is getting hard. I am getting so scared for both of them. 6yr old once she turned 3 has been admitted on and off about every 3mths, we are both so worried about her. 4yr is starting down the same path. Doc's are saying that they want to admit them every 2 mths, but they were going to do that last year with 6yr old but she never lasted that long.

My wife is having a really hard time with this, as am I but I am a robot if you ask my wife, do not show any emotions.

I really do not know what I am trying to ask, maybe I just needed to let this out. But I am so scared, I can not imagine my life without my little angels with me, and I am afriad with all the admissions and constant sickness that there is something the doc's are not telling us.

So sorry to hear you are going thru this, sending prayers. I can remember my son diagnosed 4 days old and from that day on it was one step forward 5 back. He was constantly in the hospital. At10 mos he went back to his birth weight of 5 lbs stomach valve surgery. Then on and off in and out of hospital. At age 6 another surgery then again on and off stays. Then it seemed when he hit 9-10 he was not going in as frequently . teenage years maybe went in once in 3years, he just now got put on IV therapy and its been 2 years since his last hospital stay.

Today he is 30 ( we were originally told he never live past 6) he water skis snow skis is on a kickball league , plays tennis. Keep your chin up all you can do is move foreward.

My husband went through several bouts of going to the hospital about every 3 months. I did some research online and have been doing different things with his treatments, and he has only been going about 2x a year now. I think it is a bit harder when they are younger because they haven't had a chance to build up immunities to things yet as to where older people have already gone through it. Just try and make sure they do all their medications, eat healthy (keep their weight up) My husband also said that he went out a lot more when he was younger (of course) higher chance of infections (school too) Always wash their hands and stuff like that Good luck.

Alysasdad. I cant imagine what you are going through. All I can suggest is try to find a support group for parents with chronically ill children. Most hospitals usually have something like that. Do you have family nearby that could assist? I dont know if this helps at all, but I was constantly in and out of the hospital as a kid and when I started to hit puberty, my health improved for the next decade. How are their FEV's doing? Blessings for your family.
