Thanks so much for all the replies - I really honestly feel that inhaling tobi would be fine, but i'm going to go on IV just because might as well... rather do it now then right when she is born and I'll be exhausted trying to take care of a new baby with IV...

I found out I am going to be on IV meds Aztreonam & Zosyn... is there a website that I can just type in the name of drugs and see their affects and categories?? I know my high risk ob uses a medical program.. I guess I will just go Google the meds and see what I find!

Oh and I'm waiting for my CF doctor to call my highrisk ob so they can talk to each other - I feel like I've been playing middle-man and being the messenger .. i need them to talk to each other!!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrr..

Just wanted to say that I am also doing inhaled TOBI. It is the most effective drug for me, I do it every other month and I always feel better on my "on" months. My CF doc did bloodwork before I got pregnant to measure the levels of TOBI before and after inhalation and gave me the ok as long as my OB (high risk) was on board. My OB ok'd it as well.

It is especially important for me to stay on the inhaled TOBI b/c tobramycin is also the most effective IV drug for me when I have to do them. And I'm not comfortable using that while pregnant, so I'm hoping the TOBI will help me stay healthy enough so I won't have to make that decision! Good luck with whatever you decide.

I take Tobi on an as needed basis. I took it while I was pregnant with Alexa around 28 weeks. I took it this pregnancy during the start of the 2nd tri and I just started taking it again on Monday. Alexa is perfect, she can hear, see and pee. I feel comfortable inhaling Tobi while pg because like others have said the amount the baby is exposed to is so much less than IV or oral forms. My CF doc and OB both ok'd inhaled Tobi. When ever my CF doc has a question or concern he puts a call into doctors around the country, the doctors he feels have the most knowledge/experience with whatever issue we are facing. I totally trust my CF doctor. Not a blind trust, he knows that I research everything and I am very proactive in my health care.
