Hey, I am no specialist but it sure looks to me as if you are trying to drown your feelings by the drugs and drinking. As far as the smoking is concerned...I know what trying to quit is like and I have not succeeded for any great length of time. It's funny but my CF doc said if I have to have a bad habit...drink don't smoke!! Coming from Irish parents and a family of alcoholics I just can't make myself do the drinking thing. I think you may be subconciously trying to find something else to blame your hospitalizations on instead of your smoking and by drugging and drinking you have something else to blame. So my only advice is to admit your smoking is not the best thing you could be doing and either decide to quit or decide that you do not want to and that your health will continue to deteriate. Smoking, hitting the bottle and doing drugs...well, the combination of the 3 will definitely do you in. Do you have a close friend or family member that you can open up to, like you did on this forum? Talk to someone....or continue to vent on here but you need to talk out loud to someone so you can hear what you are saying...you need to HEAR what you have written here not just read it. It is your life and only you can choose how to live it and unlike some others...I never tell anyone that they are making the worse mistake in doing stuff that they shouldn't as I do not walk in yours or anyone else's shoes...only my own!
