I may have the word wrong, I'm trying to say like fluid retention? I woke up this morning and my right hand felt pudgy. The edema wasn't that noticiable so I wasn't sure so I put my watch on my right hand to see if it was tight and it was. Looking at my wrist now I can see that it was infact big this morning.

I have a chest infection at the mo ( green fowl sputem) and I'm not on anything other than colomycin. Due to see team next week. Should I be worried?? Lookin for honest opinions, don't feel u have to be diplomatic!! Thanks

Hey there,

sorry you aren't feeling well. I personally would call and at least let them know what is going on. I don't know whether being worried is necessary. Just let them know and see if they want you to do anything about it between now and when you see them in the office.

Take Care and hope things start to improve.

Thanks for your reply! I was ok today, but I rang my team. They say that fluid retention could be related to the infection. They're going to run a "few extra tests" on Tuesday and examine a few things considering my symptoms. I think they want to cover all bases so fingers crossed there won't be anything serious wrong.

They also said that I may just be a patient for whom oral antibiotics don't work and perhaps when this happens I may just need ivs each time. So hopefully if this is the case, 'each time' won't be too often !! Hope you're well yourself...and hope everyone's well!
