Oh heavens do I know your pain. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> I don't have any real advice for you that I've found. I've used period pads before if I had a feeling it was going to be really bad. They work, but it can be a waste of pads (which is a waste of money). Hugs to you, I hope you find something that works.

I've also found that adding a bit of Lestoil (which they may not make anymore, but if they do you can find it at a hardware store) takes oil stains right out. My grandma used to add it to all her laundry because my grandpa was always dirty from car repairs and whatnot and she was a painter who frequently used oils.

Do you think increasing your medication with meals would help? This problem went away for me when I started taking sufficient enzymes. Perhaps I've just been fortunate, because that is indeed a horrible feeling!

Yea I would advise an increase in enzymes. Mine tends to happen when I forget my meds or eat something particularly greasy.

Also, Zout detergent works wonders on getting the stains out. Its a little spray on that you put directly on the stain and it usually works. Even gets blood out! It comes in a red container.

Ditto to the increase in ezymes. Also, try prevacid or zegrid to increase the effectiveness of the enzymes (check with your doc first). This helped my daughter. Take care.

It didn't much matter what I did with my pills I couldn't take enough enzymes to not have issues. Started just avoiding greasy foods other then rare special "I crave it." treats. Also changing my diet helped with GI discomfort.

OMG! I did this just the other day. My husband and I were sitting in bed looking through a photo album and Ihad to fart- BAM!!! Mortified. Thank goodness my husband is so good and understanding about it. He still makes fun of the situation and calls me a geezer but lightens it up a little. I have tried pads, uping enzymes, probiotics, etc. The only thing that worked for me was a cleaner diet. Also, you may want to be checked for the H Pylori bacteria. When it got real bad- I tested positive for this and that causes alot of loose stools, stomache issues, etc. Typically this is a third world country disease but I guess its everywhere but lowered immune systems actually allow it to grow and become full blown.
Either way- tide works really well and soaking whatever it is in hot soapy water before you even stick it in the wash. Also, don't stick anything in the wash with it- the oil tends to bleed on to other things. So GREAT!!!

H. Pylori is actually very common and has been implicated as one of the causes of gastric ulcers.

Actually this can happen to anyone but yes more so us. I had issues like this when I was young but not really anymore I'd say since in my teens of starting to take my enzymes more regularly and better judging the quantity to take. Reason I say it can happen to anyone is that it happened to my GF one time and she doesn't have stomach issues obviously but hey it was funny as all hell to me but I'm sure if she could she would've crawled under the nearest rock. I really wouldn't be surprised if you do need to adjust your enzymes though

man, that sucks vampy, no one should tease because of these issues. I really like poise pads. They absorb well, come in a lot of different sizes, seem to absorb odor pretty well. Your friends and family should count their darn blessings that they dont have to deal with what you do. I was super-embarrassed too at your age. Take heart that it gets easier to bear as you get older, probably cuz it becomes so familiar *sigh* *hug*

PS folks in my family have turned nasty smelling farting into a contest of who can gas each other more. : )

I think it happens to more 'normal' people than we really know. They just don't talk about it or have forums to discuss such issues. You are definitely not alone.

Definitely increase your enzymes.
Hardak : I knew a CF kid, she died when she was 15. She was on 10 cotazym every meal if I remember correctly. Her liver was trashed too. So it's possible that you really have to take a lot. I currently take 4 cotazym ECS20 every meal and one of my mutations is apparently one that affects the digestive system badly.
It also depends on the strenght and of which enzymes you take. Pancrease might work on you while Cotazym might not or the other way around.
See more info on the concentrations available here : http://www.drugs.com/mmx/cotazym-e-c-s-8.html
You should see if you could get higher concentration enzymes.

You might also want to try probiotics. My understanding of them is that there are different kinds filled with different flora and some of them work better for some people than others. You might have to try a few to find the right one or combination of one that helps you. (Of course, if your enzyme dose isn't right, a probiotic's not going to do anything, but if your enzyme dose is correct, then it might help.)

liquid dish soap will take any stain out of just about anything. work some dish soap into the stain, then squirt some additional into the washer for good measure. I use it instead of shout or spray and wash. Its a heck of a lot cheaper, and will actually work to get **these** stains out. Its designed to cut grease

Okay, can I just say THANK YOU to all posters on this thread?! I thought I was the only one who had this. I've had to shuffle out of a public bathroom with a hoodie tied around my waist more than once, and shed more than one tear about the embarassment. Now I'm taking more enzymes, taking probiotics faithfully, and I haven't had as much of a problem.
