For Hannukkah I love the song Moaz Tzur, and in a more secular vein, I LOVE adam Sandler's Hannukkah song, and "hey ya Hannukkah" by Outkast. Proves there ARE Jews in America.

Actually, I do have a favorite Christmas song, as I go shopping and hear it constantly lol. I like the "jingle Bell rock" Gets stuck in my head everytime.

One you don't hear very much anymore is It Came Upon a Midnight Clear. I like all the old traditional ones, but I also like Mary Did You Know.
One I really don't care for is Baby It's Cold Outside (w/ Barry Manilow and KD Lang-is that right?)--it has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas that I can figure out.

not religious in nature, but frosty the snow man takes me back to times when I didn't have to figure how many neb treatments I need to do before I go to work. Religious has to be silent night

Good one Allie. I like Adam Sandler's Hannukkah song, too. And of course for Thanksgiving his turkey song!
I can't decide which one I like better..What Child is This, or Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song) sung by Amy Grant. I don't think the 2nd one is heard very often, but I have her Christmas CD & I absolutely love it.

Well considering Christmas is my favorite holiday I have been listening to non-stop Christmas music for like a week straight now...i think my roomates want to throw me out. But my favorites are: non religious, All I Want For Christmas is You (Mariah Carey), and religious, Little Drummer Boy (and I love the version by Jessica and Ashlee Simpson).

The only Christmas song I've ever really liked has been Carol of the Bells. It's such a nice tune, a little haunting almost. Can't pinpoint what I like about it, but it's the only one that doesn't drive me up to the wall to hear every 5 minutes in December. Haha.

Hehehe, or Hohoho!!!

Being a former fan of Wham!, my favorite christmas song has to be "Last Christmas"!!

Though, I also get the "Jingle Bell Rock" tune stuck in my head!! I like the Maria Carey Christmas song, too! Of course, the Beach Boys have a rockin' tune as well!

Of, course, can't beat the rhyme, Jingle bells, Batman....
Or, the tune of Better not shout, better not cry, better not pout, I'm tellin' you why, Santa Clause is.....!
These tunes are a MUST to teach Yuka!!

Great Fred, now I am going to be thinking about "Batman smells..." for the rest of the night! Years ago Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton did a Christmas special together and I of course inherited the soundtrack to it...ok I do like it! And Burl Ives too. Another childhood memory of smelling the fireplace burning and listening to those 8 tracks and cassettes. Oh and watching the grown ups drink them selves sick. hehe What a memory to have, huh? The only thing that has changed is that I have those on CD now.

Holey Stockings, Batman!! Well, the "Batman smells isn't as bad as "Jingle Bell Rock"! I got Allie on that while using the Chat!!

Aw, one thing I miss...Egg Nog!! Had it once at 21 with a "kick" to it!! (Michigan's legal drinking age!)

Well, since you mentioned Josh Groban, I have to agree, he just has a fabulous voice.
A friend just gave me his debut CD because she doesn't listen to it anymore and there are songs on there that are different languages. Does anyone know if they are French, Spanish, Italian or all of the above?

I was out at the nearby grocery store getting my lunch, and their BGM was playing "Feliz Navidad"!!! I recalled that tune from my Spanish class in High School!!

"Feliz Navidad..Feliz Navidad....Feliz Navidad, Prosperos Anos e Felicidad..."

"I'm gettin' nothin' for Christmas"

"All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth"....are just a few more favorites!! I just figured out, exchange "grandma" with "MIL"(mother-in-law), and sing it to the tune of "Grandma got run over by a Reindeer" will work!! (and not taking her medications is true!!)

btw, other than the bgm at the stores, I couldn't find my Christmas 3 CD set my parents got me for Christmas last year

Had songs from singers like, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, and all those other singers most of you are too young to know of, or heard of!! (boy, do I feel old, now!)

Dont feel old Fred....those are the classics I look for. Bring back memories from Christmas past. I am not overly into the newer versions of the songs that are close to my heart. I remember my Mom having an 8 track tape (only the older folks wil remember that type) of a cuntry song by singer Jim Reeves called the Merry Christmas Polka & dancing around the house with my Mom & sisters. Dad never got th hang of doing the polka, but enjoyed watching.............oh the good old days!
