Hi, just letting everyone know that 4 weeks ago I received an okay for my DD to have the Ambry Amplified blood test done. Whew!! it took for ever to get the approval from my insurance for this test. She had blood drawn on 8-1-13. I heard it takes 2-4 weeks for results. Her's are not back yet, is pretty typical for it to stretch the entire 4 weeks or longer to get results? If the wait for results is longer then 4 weeks does that mean they are not finding indicators of CF? Or maybe this is just the normal wait time? What has been your experience? The waiting is so hard.

P.S. sorry Bill, but you need not reply to this post. Thank you.

Hi,

I would think (and I could be wrong) that it means that they did not find anything with the first screening and went on to do the extended and maybe the duplications/deleations. My son only showed positive on the second stage and is headed for duplications/deleations to confirm the second mutation. CF either way for him because of symptoms and family history. Good luck for you and our prayers are with you for answers.
