I just wanted to share with you guys.. (because I tell you guys so much.of my life)....I took my final exam in Nursing three today. I did really well and I am so thankful to God that I was able to finish school.

I think you guys can all relate to how hard it is to go to school when you have CF.. even though I have a mild form it was so hard for me this semester, ....

I was sick pretty much from September through the first week of December....between my mothers husband dying, me finding out I culture MRSA to just plain old CF and other health issue stuff...

My hardest day was the day after I got out of the hospital, which happen to be my birthday, I walked across campus in the pouring rain.. with an IV Bag attached to the top of my umbrella.... and went to class...that was the point I really started to doubt myself...and wondered if I was just crazy for thinking I could do this.....but thanks to my family, friends, and the loving encouragment of all of you guys who told me to keep going and not quit...

I did it. I feel like I could scream with happiness at the top of my lungs....One more semester to go.. 20 weeks and I will be an RN...

Thanks for letting me share,

Jennifer

Roccccccccccccckkkkkkkkk the eff on.

I have to tell you, the IV bag on the umbrella image gave me a little chuckle. I know it's not fun, but it's such a weird little random CF thing that only we can appreciate. I've done IVs in class before... but only ever the little bottles, so I didn't need to hang bags from anywhere.

Jennifer,
Congrats! We all admire your determination. The IV bag on the umbrellla was a great idea (and as others have said a funny image.) I must admitt, I might not have been gutsy enough to do that!

Thanks Guys.. I appreciate all the support... Yup, I had the ball IVs for all my infusions except for the Zyvox that was in 300 mls.. and it had to go in by gravity drip.. It took a long time to go in as well.. The umbrella trick was purely on accident.. I had to use an umbrella because it was pouring rain.... but as it turned out it works great as an IV pole... I have also used the little handel to hang your stuff on in the back seat of my car.... (Sun Visor didn't work to well.. the bag was to heavy).....

Anyway. thanks for being happy for me.......

Love

Jennifer

Hey you go girl!!! I am sooo proud of you, you have had a rocky road this whole semester. Just think...one more semester and you are done!! Each day that goes by, you are that much closer to your goal..I know you can do it!! And you know what, you will be a wonderful nurse, don't let anyone tell you different! Even though I don't know you personally, I can sense your compassion and dedication, both of which are necessary traits for a great nurse. A great big cyber party for you, keep up the great work! Hugs and love, Jenn <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
