Hi

I can maybe help you a little with you question about transplant.

With CF they usually transplant both lungs, so i doubt your doctor would want to transplant only your right lung.
This is because when you would transplant the right lung, that new lung could get infected very quickly with the bacteria from the left lung that still has the CF genes and is still more susseptable to bacteria.
I know people where they have taken out on on of the lungs because it was infected too much while the other lung was still relatively good. With that they hope that the 'good' lung has a better chance with the 'bad' lung that's full of infection being gone.
After that you can also have a transplant, but that would be of just one lung, the lung that is still there. When that one gets very bad too.

If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask. That's what we're all here for

Good luck with everything!

Well, my left lung is actually pretty clear, it's the right one that my doctor is worried about. I don't think I have any more questions... Thank you for answering my first question though.
