He didn't have to. It was implied. Why do you think Scrooge brought a christmas goose in the end? It was the goose that crippled Tiny Tim, Scrooge had it killed for him... as a peace offering.

Whatever. Tiny Tim would have forgiven that goose a long time ago, 'cause Tiny Tim was like that.
