I loved my port.. I had complications due to a blood clot so it had to come out. I recently got a clot from a picc line , soooo its back to a port <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> w/ blood thinners for me.. I am happy about it.. They let me go the same day. They put in a double as the doctor said it would be better in the long run. You can't even tell and its pretty cool. I guess the next step is learning how to use it.
They made two cuts. One was were they did started the line and the other was lower were they put the actual port. The only thing I am not to crazy about is the line goes right over my collar bone and you can see it and feel it.
I was told it's best if I wait seven days before using it so have to wait a few more days and I am still using the pick line.
They are sending a home nurse and I am hoping she knows how to do it. I really want my wife to learn as I do not want a home nurse to come twice a day every day.
