Glad to be on the mend

On or about 11/07 I got horribly sick.
I was vomiting non-stop; feeling nauseated & just feeling awful. I couldn't even get out of bed to go vomit.
Sometime during the night, I aspirated vomit into my lungs.
The next day, Becky demanded I get in the truck & go to the hospital in PHX.
I spent 2 full weeks in the ICU followed by one week on the CF floor. I was intubated for over a week & a half.
You want to talk about some wild hallucinations!
I was seeing scary monsters & dead rats all over. I contracted pneumonia due to aspiration & bacteria.
That sent me into rejection.
My arms and belly are covered in bruises.
This hospitalization was one of the most painful I've ever had to endure.
Thank God I'm starting to heal up. Becky has me up & walking daily; in fact, after a full month, she is finally going to be able to go back to work next week.
I'm on oxygen & will be for awhile. I have to walk with a walker for now.
Becky's Dad has been staying with us & he's been a tremendous help.
Here's hoping everyone else out there has as much to be grateful as I.
(OXYGEN2)May God bless & be with you all.

Wow Pat, I only have a second, but I wanted to say that I'm so sorry to hear what you have gone through. Sounds like a very rough and scary ordeal.

I hope you are able to feel better and get stronger each day!

Hang in there,

Autumn
