Going in for Tune-Up

I've had a sinus infection and my breathing has been getting much worse, so I'm being admitted Monday at Vanderbilt. I'll get a Port inserted and will stay for about 3 days so they can monitor my meds and response a little since last time (Jan.) I had such a hard time with the meds.

Since I had a Port many years ago, I'm kind of nervous about that because I remember how sore I was for days afterward! But I liked the Port much better than a PICC.

Good luck Debbi! I was just in for a tune-up and feel so much better!! I had a new port placed (my port of 9 years finally broke). I was sore for 3 days. Now it's not a problem. The new ports today are called "power" ports. They are helpful for contrast administration if needed in the future. I think a lot of places put them in even if you never will have contrast.

I hope you feel a lot better within a few days of IV antibiotics.
