hey everyone!

thanks for the well wishes. i was admitted on monday right after my appt. and had a pretty lousy stay compared to any other time (they're supposed to knock me out for picc, it was on my orders but the anesthsia doc wouldn't do it cause he was too "worried" with my CF, so i was awake for the whole thing.) bad nurse that took 2 hours to fill my water (and about 3 requests to do so) and never did get a call in to get me a tylenol for the whole 12 hours she was on shift (i asked about 4 times). wasn't on the CF floor (full), so didn't get any snacks other than crackers and nothing high fat. lost about 2 pounds in 2 days. then, was supposed to get discharged yesterday but they didn't get the order into home health before they closed so i stayed another night. good greif!!!

today i am HOME!!! yay! starting with home health tonight. feel exhausted but hopeful I will get relief from the meds. I'm not feeling any better and its been 2 days, but I suppose that's normal? especially after doing NOTHING but laying on med/surg in my bed for 48 hours.... ick!

anyway, hope everyone else is feeling ok. i will read up on updates in the near future. for now, its med and nap time.

cheers!

Welcome Home Sonia !!!! I hope the meds do the trick and you are feeling better soon. It does usually take me longer than two days for the meds to kick in.

On to that nurse Dang she should be SHOT !!! O.K. maybe thats a little harsh, but it makes me crazy when i hear that a nurse doesn't do his/her job the right way (i blame nurses, and drs for my renal failure, had they realized that i was becoming dehydrated and oh abx , i might have dodged that bullet) Anyway it really pisses me off, can you tell? lol

I hope that you find the right person for YOU, to discuss your thoughts/fears, someone is out there for you (besides us of course ) It took me awhile to find the right therapist, I have switched churches and absolutely love my new pastor, and have met some pretty amazing ppl that pray w/ me..

If you ever want to talk, to pray , vent anything just PM me...

Take care keep us posted and God Bless you and God Bless your hubby and all the service men and women that are serving our country.. I am so grateful to them..

Glad to hear you are home. Given the stressful time while you were in....I would think it will take you a bit longer to feel a difference (more so then usual)!

Thanks again everyone. I know I haven't posted on this thread for a while.

I went for my 15-day follow up today and my pfts were only up 2% (not acceptable to me after this long on IV meds)... Also, I'm coughing up more and more gunky colored crap as each day goes on. urgh. I'm still on IVs, but they finally decided to culture me last week and just got the results back today (have I mentioned how "on top of things" this clinic is?!?) and found I am now resistant to one of the meds I'm on. Had they actually done a culture when I started on meds (instead of relying on a 2 month old culture), perhaps they would have realized this?!

Anyway, they're switching the merreum (now resistant) to ceftazapime (? spelling) and I'll stay on another 2 weeks.

I can't help but think someone dropped the ball here. I was complaining last week of feeling worse and sicker and not bouncing back at all (fev1 was virtually unchanged) and had to nearly beg them to do a culture again to make sure I was sensitive to what they had me on. Seems a little odd no one bothered to culture before and find this out. URGH.

Anyway, thanks everyone for your support. Aside from my mom being here, without my DH, my internet buddies and family are all I have....

thanks,
