My clinic is frustrating sometimes..they were telling me they didnt want to even mess with it as insurance is alway an issue with Xoponex and theyd hve to show proof of why i need this and not albuterol..i didn need any of that so again my clinic just was trying to pull the cap over my eyes..i never let them just think ill take their word cause im not stupid and allot smarter then they think i am! Sorry had to vent and share lol <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Glad it was covered......just goes to show that it doesn't hurt to be persistent!! Hope the Xopenex does the trick for you without the high heart rates.

ummm..this is just a guess, but based on my experience when my doc writes for something that isnt covered, my pharmacy often will fill it at no cost, but only once. Your clinic might know that your insurance doesn't cover xopenex, which is why they wouldn't write it for you. They did and it was not covered and your pharmacy took the hit. This happened with me for Naprosyn. I would make sure this wasn't the case, because you might not be getting any more of it.

No i talked to the pharmacist and he told me medicare coverd it no problem..and they put it to four times a day which was even more surprising with me usualy medicare has issues but he told me i was good to go they coverd it!..my doctor an clinic have been treating me not as well as in wantin to help me so yes it was them being awkward.

If that's the case you need to have a serious discussion with your CF team. You need to articulate to them that they don't seem to have your best interest in mind and find out where the break down is on their end.

They have changed with me i used to love them an it seems lately they dont like to answer questions i have or want to help..i mean if my heart rate is 125-130 after an albuterol treatment i think thts a big sign to change it considering the fact that i already have a high heart rate and now take metoprol. At first they told me that they couldnt do it insurance is always a huge problem and that theyd have to show proof to the insurance company why i cant tolerate albuterol..i knew something seemd fishy so i called my insurance people myself they both all said there would be no issue!..i called the doc the next day..i said why is it that you told me insurance was an issue yet i called them and they told me it was all clear there wouldnt be an issue..they got agravated with me they said so what if you try xoponex and you dont like it or why are you wanting to change anyway you been on this forever..i said well i want to try this i hear its better than albuterol an considering the fact that im now doing advair id like my heart to have a rest im doing a double whammy of two bronchodialators..you know i love advair so figured wed try this xoponex since it has less i the high heart rate an then advair wont be a problem for me..she then said well have you done your research on this medicene tryin to make me second guess if i really want it..then i said well no but i know the basics of it not having the effects of high heart rate like albuterol..she then said well you do your research an call us back and if you feel you need it i guess well do that for you...i was like wow ok..i told her i get given this in hospital she then made me wait for 10-15 mins just to see if i was telling the truth..i dont know what it is but i have other storys about them as well..like making me wait a week tod get medicene when i knew i was sick but yet they told me it was my anxiety i jus needed to relax..or said my fevers were normal in the 100's when i know thats not my normal..im like trying to get my fev better not worse i cant afford a week no meds when im sick

I don't know the whole story, but don't need to. You feel there is a problem, therefore you need to meet with your entire team and figure out where the breakdown is occurring. Griping on here might make you feel better, but it's not getting anything accomplished.

I was mainly writing about how i was stoked this medicene was free cause all i was hearing was the copay or cost is expensive..i wasnt using this as a gripe about my doctor..i was sharin my thoughts to you since you brought up about my doctors care. So really i have nothing more to say this isnt what this was mainly about. You brought up the doctor an i explained.

Well let me apologize then for being concerned that you aren't getting the level of care I think you should be from your CF team. I think I am beginning to understand their attitude a little more now anyway.
