Thanks everyone for such sweet replies!!!

We are so glad to be home with our little munchkin and out of the hospital!

Things are definitely crazy in our house - Brianna is so funny and is only 5 days old but is letting us know who's boss for sure! haha - she LOVES eating and being held allll the time. Her favorite spot to sleep is on my chest <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Kenny found out today that he has strep throat. Definitely NOT cool!!!!!!!! The last 3 days in the hospital, he said his throat felt scratchy, but then last night he said he felt like he was swallowing knives. Its Sunday so we had to deal with an on call emergency doctor today because we didn't know what to do - we have a 5 day old baby in the house now!!!! So the doc gave a script for Amoxicillin (sp?) and said that Brianna has my immunities for the first 3 months anyways - but to still keep Kenny out of her face. Last night was SO hard - I took care of all the feedings and dirty diapers and poor Kenny just had to lay there and couldnt go near Brianna. I got 2 hours of sleep and now tonight my feet/legs/hands are all swelled up.. I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow and ask if that is normal after having a c-section. No temp or anything, just swelling. My incision looks great but i'm still SO SORE!!! I was told to take it easy, obviously .. but it's kinda hard when Kenny has strep and there's a new baby to take care of. So, I'm taking care of Brianna, doing my nebs & IVs, and trying to take it easy lol!!!

you will be fine. this first week is AMAZING. but very hard too. it is normal to get hit with the "OMG" moment....I got hit with it wen my lo was about 7 days old. i remember my hubby came home and i was a frozen zombie on the chair w my lo in my arms.
happy zombie, but a still a zombie nonetheless.
your body isn't used to being sleep deprived. it will get used to it, and you'll learn little tricks to make it through each day and on to the next.
nap when u can-let the house go, even let your showering go if u have to. lay down and nap or even watch tv if u can't fully sleep. rest when u can.
call one of brianna's grandma's, aunts, neighbors, girlfriends.....anyone so you can get a good real nap in or have someone clean your house.
people always saw ehy, anything i can do...well take em up on it!!!
you are a rockin mama~! you'll be fine, enjoy every minute!!

oh and i know how worried u are about lo catching daddy's cold...(man that sucks!!!) but its probably not a huge deal at this point. he was probably catching a day or 2 before he even felt sick and his window to pass it on is passed now. your lo is so full of immunuties from birth and your milk that she'll thrive!!!

i haven't had my little one home yet, but hopefully tomorrow. and i have wondered about my ankles swelling too. glad to hear i'm not the only one. i am up and down all day long going back and forth between the hospital so that's my guess for the swelling. glad to hear that you are enjoying your little one!! hopefully rob gets better soon!!

Hi Tina,

Congratulations! Brianna is gorgeous!

When I was in the hospital after my c-section I noticed swelling in my feet. I'm stick thin to begin with so the nurses didn't think much of it, but normally I can see all my bones and tendons in my feet and my feet were a bit puffy instead! The nurses checked them and found they were ok though. Better safe than sorry, so call your OB and be sure. Swelling is normal after a c-section, but too much swelling is not. Only your doctor can make that call though. Give him a ring Tina. Take care!
