I woke up with my joint pain yesterday. Just a little pain in my knee. I did my exercising anyways and was a tiny short of breath when running. I went to work that night and joint pain was getting a lot worse. It was now in all my major joints. While at work, I developed a different kind of sore throat. It felt like pain in my tonsils down my trachea and into my right lung. Vey painful! The joint problem got so bad, I couldn't get up off the couch after work. I could not lay flat for sleeping because I was in so much pain in the tonsils, trachea, larynx and right lung. It was like something I have never felt before. Today, it is better. Pain has done down in throat, lung, and joints but the pain is still present. I had a mild fever last night also 99.5. I don't get sick often and I don't have a cf appointment until December because they are so busy. I am a little short of breath also. The only thing I can attribute this to is sleeping with the window open lately. I know it has to do with a low immune system. Stuff like this happens to me when I have a glass of wine, sometimes I get mild joint pain. Last night I couldn't walk though. Any advice or anything that could help me? Any joint meds you all have used? I wonder if this is just general CF or has something to do with my MAC.

Well i've not had it quite the same i dont have any of the soar throat or pain in tonsil but i have have pains in my joints and it would just be very sore, red and aching one day and then if i kept walking on it the next day it would come out in spots and the next day swallon and hot. and after 3 or 4 days it would kill and couldnt touch it or hardly walk on it in the end i had to have antibiotics for it. and i went for a scan for Low Bone Density. They found out i had it and all i needed was Vitamin D. I had enough calcium in my body but low on Vitamin D. since then ive not had the problem much. I also found out if i did get it again then to not move on the joint and if it on the leg and you need to walk in the house wear thick slippers, also to put it in cold water and rest it. hope that helps

Im going to try some vitamin D. I have been having a craving for cheese a lot often. I also lost weight due to lowing my carb intake because of the pre diabetes. I also don't eat as often because I don't have the money and had to cut down on groceries. I was slightly over weight before and now I would say Im a tiny bit under weight but its not a big deal. Im at 135lbs for 5'7. I am also noticing I have to keep my feet warm. Thank you for your impute. The joint pain is horrible and I hate taking pain meds

I have severe joint pain from cf related arthritis. I get small, reddish spots all over when it happens. It usually pops up when I'm starting to get sick.

I think I am starting to get arthritis. I am going to ask my cf specialist to refer me to someone but what can they do for you? Has anything helped you?

if your craving for cheese it sounds like you are low on calcium as sometimes when you have craving it can mean you body is low on the thing its craving and could be the reason for your joint pains. but i could be wrong i would speak to you cf specialist about all this

check all your med possible reactions. If you are taking Cipro or other antibiotics in that same class long term, that could be causing joint pain. No thoughts on the other stuff

my 18 year old daughter (deltaf508) developed cf arthritis this past year. pain in joints and the red bumpy rash...said her throat and lungs hurt as well. her cf doc sent her to the rheumatologist who prescribed meloxicam. it is an anti-inflammatory drug (ibuprofen didn't touch her pain). if she has a flare she does a 5 day steroid burst that seems to break the cycle for months. the meloxicam is daily. I am sorry for your pain and my daughter's, it just stinks that the cf community has to deal with this too.
