HCR and Medicaid

Hello all. I am ALL FOR this HCR reform because I think it will benefit more americans than not. However, right now, my son has Florida Medicaid insurance and part of me is wondering how this will be affected, if at all, by the potential HCR that is being discussed (if it passes to the final levels of it being effective).

Right now, we pay nothing out of pocket, and for us, that is great, because we definitely couldn't afford co-pays and such along with Rx's.

On top of that, I am aware that a LOT of parents of children with terminal illnesses wind up divorcing so they are able to get medicaid or state assistance for insurance for their child so they can afford their care, so I am also wondering if the HCR may also change this as well, because my sons father and I are together and want to get married at some point, but even though he doesn't make a lot of $, we wouldn't qualify for the medicaid our son has right now, so we'd have to pay something out of pocket (we're living by the skin of our teeth as it is).

So, like I said, I am hoping someone knows about this stuff, if not, thats okay too. I really don't want opinions expressed as much as facts, because I don't like discussing politics. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thank you!

It upsets me that the cf community feels like they cannot get married becasue of extreme helathcare costs. My daughter has cf and wants to get married next year? she cant afford to get her own insurance without a job and her fiance is the only income with two kids....im angry too
