How do you keep your kids safe from germs?

My son is 6 and in the first grade. We have hand sanitizer "stations" throughout the house and car to try and keep us from passing germs around. Just courious to know if someone has a similar or better system.

Also, how do you store your neb masks? I have a sterlite plastic container that I keep all of his stuff in. However, it is an eye sore on my counter. Any ideas?

We have hand sanitizer EVERYWHERE! It is in the car, in my purse, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, and the living room. We make it a habit of cleaning our hands with sanitizer when we get back in the car from shopping and when entering our house. Before Lexi eats or we do any meds, we always wash with soap and water. I also once a week wipe down door knobs, remote controls, phones, light switches, ect... with clorox wipes.

I keep Lexi's neb equipment and masks in a plastic container in a cabinet in the kitchen. Maybe you could clear some space for that. I have an entire cabinet for meds, extra inhalers, extra nebulizers and tubing, and of course sanitized nebulizers.

Hope this helps

Thanks Melissa! Every little bit of info helps. I have half of a big shelf dedicated to meds. I was just telling one of my daughters yesterday that I'm going to take over the other half pretty soon. Looks like it will be a project for Labor day weekend!

Thanks again. Have a great weekend!!

Besides keeping hand sanitizer on hand, I use the lysol germocide wipes to wipe my laptop, cell phone ,etc. If someone in your family or friends have a cold, ask them stay at home until they are well. If this offends them, then they don't care about your son's condition. I also keep gloves and masks at home. I use the mask when I have to go to my CF clinics. Again, I would wipe cell phones and other phones after every use. Personallly, I use alcohol wipes.

That is all I can think of right now. Feel free to respond back with other questions you may have. I am a 40 year old CFer, so I have been there, done that, learned the hard way, etc.
