i need information about CF!- plz help

my best friend has just told me that she might have CF n she is gettin the test done next week.

is it true that you may not get car insurance or a mortgage if you have the diesease?

Plz can u help me with information about CF so i can support her as much as i can.

Ive never heard of such a thing... why wouldnt you be able to drive a car or own a house.. people adopt, go to college all of the normal stuff!!!! alot of advances have been made and ppl are living longer..

That is not true about the vehicle insurance or the house. My son is 32 and has car/truck insurance and has had for years. He has also owned two houses as an adult. I hope this helps. PM

I have also never heard of this. I am 18 going to be 19 in a month I have a car and go to college. I can do anything a normal person can do (no that bc i have cf i am not normal). but i would say all you can really do is be there for your friend when she gets down and just support her in any way you can. if you ever want to talk or ask a question you can email me at ksantangelo86@patmedia.net. first off, good for you for trying to find out more information about it. my advice(whether you want it or not, MWAHAAHAHahaAHAHAHAH) is learn what you can, dont panic, and be there any time can.

Don't forget to be there for your friend, which I can see you already are, but if it turns out she does have it, she may want sombody to be there just to listen. Don't burden her with too many questions!! But I xcan see you are a really nice, caring friend, well done on doing some research!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Hopefully she won't have it, but if she does, be her staff to lean on. And if you have questions, we're right here. You have my permission, as a matter of fact, everyone who reads this should know that you can ask me ANY question about cf and I will try to give an adequate answer.

Yes,

You can get a mortgage, a loan, car insurance whatever you want, it really has nothing to do with it. What we can't get is reasonable rates on insurance to guarantee payment of these items if we would happen to die.

Ya like everyone else has said just support her and stand by her not really much else u can do, but u would be suprised how much that really does help someone with CF cause people that r ignorant to it and don't know what it is look down on that person and she might need someone to help her get through it.
