Insulin...Injection or pills?

I'm awaiting my appt. with the endo, my doc told me I may have to start taking insulin, my 1 hour result of my OGT was 287, 2 hour was 72. I was wondering how everyone administers their insulin. Do you take shots or pills? The doc told me that it would likely be shots.

I take shots also. I dont believe insulin comes in any other form. I did use pills years ago for my diabetes and they worked for a little while, but quickly lost their effective-ness so i returned to insulin . Insulin allows you to eat more, more easily maintain weight because your blood sugars wont be as high all the time,You will generally feel better. Barb is correct it becomes as routine as brushing your teeth.

same- i take the shots. they never gave me the option of pills, actually.

while your there you might as well ask about their process for getting a pump- just so you know how to get one if/when you decide to <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
