Liver Issues with CF?

Got some blood work done today on my 2.5 month old son to find out what type of CF he has. Got some of the results back today, mostly good, but one we're a little confused on. The doctor told us that his results for his liver came back high. Not sure why yet and we'll do an ultrasound some time next week. Is this common with CF?

Anyone have any "experience" with CF and the liver? This is all new to my wife and I. With CF, it seems you take two steps forward, and three steps back....Ugh!

Itis common, mucus causes inflamation of all organs. It is apt to show as Surosos (sp) of the Liver. It is 100% reversable.

Are you seeing a CF Specialist at a Approved CF Clinic? This would not be out of the ordinary there. I would expect that the Dr. would Rx enzymes.

PS I never heard of a "type of CF".

Liver can be affected. DS had high liver levels when he was a few weeks old and was put on a medication called Actigall. Hasn't had an issue since.

I think by "type of CF" the doctor was really discussing the mutations. Don't worry the jargon will come as you learn more. Also, did you learn the mutations yet because depending on the mutations involved there is a new drug out that can be very effective. If you know, post. Good luck.
