losing my voice...

for the last week my voice has totally changed - I never really had the raspy "CF voice" as I call it .. but now it sounds all raspy. Since being pregnant, I have been doing Pulmozyme everyday, as well as Xopenex inhalations.... could the Pulmozyme be making my voice all weird? I have been doing it everyday for 4 months now, and this just started last week...

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm still on bedrest for this blood clot in my uterus ... bedrest is nottttttt fun <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I am not pregnant or have ever been preggers but i loose my voice alot. i think it might be the pulmozyme. i take it twice a day so i think that sometimes when i loose my voice it has to deal with that. but im not for sure just giving a thought.... good luck with the bed rest thing!

I have lost my voice from pulozyme before. BUT it was only after skipping it for a week or so, then going back on it (it's been years since I was that careless!) I also lose my voice with TOBI.

I'm with you though, you've been doing pulmozyme for 4 months, why now???

One suggestion, drink some milk (or chocolate milk, as my case would be) to coat your throat before a treatment.

Another thought might be, you are coughing more during pregnancy and that is putting strain on the vocal cords. It might be such a subtle increase, you weren't even aware of the increased cough. Another thing that makes me lose my voice is wind (I'm a delicate little flower) If I spend a lot of time out doors in the wind, my voice is gone. Or even just riding in a car with the windows down. I don't know why...maybe all the extra dust/pollen being blown in my face?? So maybe a recent change in weather is the culprit? Regardless, if it's not hurting you, I wouldn't worry about it. Sorry though, it sucks not to be able to talk. Although from the sounds of your post, it seems you are just raspy and not mute.

Good luck!

One of my first pregnancy symptoms was sinus drainage. Maybe it is that that is irritating your voice? Sorry, I can't think of anything else that hasn't been mentioned already...
