Lung Function loss

Anyone else have lung function loss without any major sign of illness? Our 9 yr old had her check up yesterday and she has been really well for a while now meaning like 2 years since a tune up and she dropped to 80 on her lung function test and the only symptoms she has is a mild temp like 99 and some behavioral issues and getting tired but still plays out side and goes a mile a minute. She usually blows at a 100 or so but never down to 80 she did one time go from playing all day at a indoor play center and keeping up with her siblings and go the next day to an CF appointment and be put into the hospital because her function dropped to 60. Anyone else drop like this with no sinus or coughing symptoms?

What are the doctors doing for her? Did they do a sputum culture to see if there is any nasty bugs brewing in there?

I second what Mammahuff has asked.

This happened to me around the same age as your daughter. I thought I felt relatively fine. Still went about my usual activities. I only needed a tune up for a week or two.

They did the culture, X-ray and blood work it will be a few days for results but they placed her on DS Septra that day. I just wish that their lung function wouldn't decline so quickly without warning. What if she didn't have an appointment already like she did. She is colonized with MRSA & ORSA and Pseudomonas but has been really good for years really the only reason she had a tune up almost 2 years ago was because she is Pre-CFRD and they were watching her glucose levels.

Well she is growing Pseudomonas and MRSA. She just went off of the Cayston the day before culturing her. She has not declined in cough wise but she is still not up to par with her activity level and crankie and mild cough. The nurse is calling the docs to see if they want to do anything else. She just had the Bactrim DS July 6 for 14 days ended july 19 and now back on it started on Aug 28 and finished Cayston on the 27th. I'll keep you updated thanks everyone for their support.
