Hi my husband and I have recently contacted a high risk OB about me giving birth. I am a 32 year old woman with CF. Her concern were what my lung volume were. She said something about it needing to be 1 liter or more? I have a copy of my recent PFTs, can someone tell me where I look to determine my lung volume? Thanks,Kathi

Kathy, Most likely the PFT read out has a couple of numbers.FEV1 - 2.30 and then 87%The 2.30 is the number of liters, and the 87% represents that you are blowing out 87% of what is predicted of you. They come up with that number determined by our height, weight, age, sex and race.Do you do IV's quite a bit? My sister has CF and she has had 4 kids. They are all healthy and she did pretty good with each pregnancy, I think her biggest thing was she would lose weight, instead of gain.Joanne Schumluckylungforjo@aol.com
