Malora is being admitted to Children's Boston today.
It seems being on antibiotics off and on since October
and getting C-diff for the 2nd in less then 3 months
took a turn.

She has been struggling even though they have been treating
it with Flagyl. Her weight is dropping fast now.

Hope for a short stay.

3/21/2010 Update:
Malora is still in. They have her on Vancomycin for the
C-Diff since the Flagyl did not work this time. They are also trying to get her weight back up. They started a fecal
fat test to see if her enzymes need to be adjusted.

She isn't a happy camper right now. Not only do they have her eating solids, but are doing tube feeds. NOt at night because of the desmopressin that she takes. So shes solid then goes on the feeds. Mind you she is small for her age.
Not sure where she going to put all of that.

3/23/2010 Update:
We just got home. They want her to stay on the Vancomycin
4x aday for 30 days. I can not believe that C-Diff can be that bad. I sure did learn alot.

I really want to thank everyone for keeping her your thoughts and prayers. Keep your fingers crossed that
her body does not take a hit like that with C-diff.

THey told us if the Cancomycin did not work they had no other drugs to use. That was not something I wanted to hear.

Again Many, many thanks to all of you.

Thanks Debbie, We didn't get in right away because I had to
fight with the insurance company. Mean while she managed to drop
3 more pounds since Wednesday. I am just hoping that they get this C-diff under control. Less then a week ago she was 103/104.
This will be a long weekend.

Malora's screen name pops up since I'm on her computer.

On Cheryl I'm so sorry to hear Malora is going in. I hope they can figure things out for her so she can put some weight on and come home.
