Motivation?

I'm always tired after working all day, but realize the need to exercise.

What's your motivation and what kind of exercising do you do? (But mostly, what's your motivation?)

I never exersice alone (at least twice - 3 times a week)- we pic a day and time and always meet. Treat is as going out with friends.
After a few weeks regular training you'll feel bad if you miss some training - not to mantion explaining friends why you didn't show up

Good luck

Hi,

well I'm 41 and have dealt with this my whole life. Last year I started the P90X workout system. There is 12 discs and each one is different and about an hour long. An hour seemed to be so long at the begining, but now I'm have no problem. Also, my lung functions have improved almost 15% over the past year.

I just became a coach in order to help peole with CF in the very same situation. I'd be glad to help you in anyway. Here's my website.

Surely going for exercise helps keeping the body of an individual fit.... Would really be suggesting all to go in for exercise as its best for keeping a human body healthy....

If I'm being lazy I try not to think about the actual working out but what I want the results to be, but if nothing else I just get myself to the gym and if I'm there I might as well work out. It helps to have a workout partner to push you also.

I know this thread is old-ish, but it's been dug up, so I will throw in my two cents.

To be perfectly honest, I can summarize my motivation in three points. Keep in mind I'm a male. YMMV.

-------

1. I want to have some muscle on me. Out of shape dudes are treated "differently" (worse) by other males. I learned this first-hand growing up as a skinny kid.

2. I want to look attractive to the opposite sex. (Very vain, but just being honest.) The rub is I'm married. Fear of abandonment? Dunno. But there it is.

3. I - quite literally - feel depressed if I don't have endorphins (from exercising) rushing through my head at regular intervals.

-------

Personally, I find that weight training is very satisfying. Whatever lousy mood I may be in, it alleviates it. I don't like cardio very much, but I (and you) need it, so I do it.

As for feeling tired out at the end of the day: my observation has been that different folks have different physical peaks during the day. I actually weight train starting around 20:00. I know many people who are most successful with early morning - ~06:00 - workouts. I think they're nuts. But you have to experiment and determine what works best for you.

Above all else, proper form, pseudo-healthy diet, and consistency are key. Best wishes on getting started and sticking with it. It may be that you'll discover the feeling you get from it will motivate you.

My major motivation is that I want to grow old with my husband and see my kids (now ages 5 and 10) graduate from college and meet my grandchildren : ) I also LIKE being very strong and muscular and I get depressed when I cant work out.
