Nebulizer Cups Confusion

My son just started tobi so now he has 3 nebulizer cups - one for hypteronic, pulmozyme and tobi. How do you keep from getting confused on which one is which? I boil them every night and I am trying very hard not to get them mixed up. Is is ok to mark them with a sharpie? I keep thinking though that the ink will come off when I boil them and stick to the cup and my son will inhale the stuff. I know, I know,paranoid Mom!!!

It IS confusing! Especially when I'm prescribed a new inhaled drug and I'm not sure which one to use! I was prescribed Colistin a few months ago and I didn't even know which neb cup to use. Turns out, it's the Pari set, which I didn't have anymore and I had to scramble to get one. I currently have 5 different ones - for albuterol, Pulmozyme, Colistin, tobra, & Cayston. There's just so many to keep track of sometimes.

I will sometimes mark with a permanent marker which ones is for which; although, I find that it sometimes wipes off after washing it several times. But you can always re-write it on there as it fades. That is the best idea I have come up with so far.

i scratch either a "p" for pulmozyme, "x" for xoepenex, etc...into the side of the nebs pieces she uses for each one that way i dont get them mixed up.

Yeah, wouldn't it be great if the valves came in a variety of colors instead of just blue? Would make it so much easier!

Take a piece of Transpore tape (medical tape, the kind they use to tape gauze, etc. on) and tape it on the side of the neb cup. Then write on it in Sharpie. Works for us.

Doesn't it get boiled off? That's why I'm a little concerned about using nail polish because I'm worried it might flake off during boiling.
