welcome and congrats on your new baby! the next few months will be so exciting and challenging-but the best of your life and the reward at the end of this for all your hard work is the greatest gift in the world. get ready!
great pfts-that is a good start to your pregnancy. it will help you get through everything.

sometimes increased cough is common in pregnancy. the added blood volume preg women have can make more secretions in the upper airways and the nasal passages too. i'd keep a close eye on it. you know you can use antibiotics while pregnant-there are many you can use. perhaps the docs want to be extra safe since you are so early still.

i'd do extra chest pt-you are doing it religiously right? and are you on hypertonic saline? that helped me soooo much. it really upped my fev1. and the best thing is, its not a drug so its perfectly safe for baby. i's seriously consider starting that. esp with flu and cold season here and you getting further along in your preg through the winter months.

i delivered a baby girl this june. i was able to have a natural unmedicated birth with no complications. i did get very sick when i was 6 months along. i was able to avoid ivs, but i did go on oral antibiotics for 3-4 weeks. i was so sick. its good to avoid medicines, but sometimes you do need them. a healthy mommy means a healthy baby. its better to take an oral antibiotic than take ivs. and its better to take ivs if really neccesary than need to be stuck in the hosp dangerously sick or worse.

take care and keep us updated. please ask lots of questions-i have found the other moms here so valuable and learned so much.
stay healthy!

Thanks everyone!!! I have been browsing through the topics last night for HOURS lol! I always thought I was going to have problems getting pregnant.... lets just say I wasn't the most "responsible" teenager when it came to sex... and I never got preggo.. so after 8 months of being with my fiance, finding out I was pregnant was one of the most happiest days of my life!!!! It's so nice to be able to share our experiences with one another

I hope to also have a vaginal birth for my baby (just found out it's a girl!) but I keep thinking that my cough will get in the way and my diabetes will complicate things.... so I have also been just researching c-sections, just to be prepared in case it has to go that route.

I woke up today, coughing SOOOO bad - my morning coughs are always gross but today it was to the point that I almost made myself throw up from coughing so hard.

Last night I had to put a heating pad on my lower abdomen, just in short intervals - didn't wanna get too hot - cause the ligament pains and all the stretching hurts soooo bad right now. I am so petite, have NO hips and I suppose thats why everything is so sore... my obgyn said its Round Ligament Pain.

The last couple of nights I thought I felt little "taps" inside me.... not sure if it was the baby or gas LOL - I've been having quite a bit of that too lately so it's hard to differentiate gas or baby movement!!! hahaha..

I am currently a SAHF (stay at home fiance) and it's nice to be able to rest when not feeling good. The financial situation is stressing my partner and I out - my disability checks are not much at all .. he brings home the bacon .. so it's stressful to think about that too but I know things should be okay. The baby will be on his insurance, since I am still a dependent on my parents as primary and have medicaid as secondary.

I am going to try the hypertonic stuff .. I know I did it about a year ago but it irritated my lungs SO bad - it felt like I was swimming in a pool with way too much chlorene for hours and hours haha - maybe I made the mixture too strong..

Anne, don't worry about it! I am usually a bum too when it comes to e-mails, it's SOOOO nice to meet you and put a face to a name!! You and your daughter are BEAUTIFUL!

Talk to you all very soon!! Thanks for the kind replies!!
