Tomorrow I go for my PICC. First post-preg tune up since having DS. (he's 6 months) I did nurse DD while on IVs, but that was 4 yrs ago, and it was only a couple weeks. Honestly it feels like centuries ago, I can barely remember it!
Of course now I have an active 4 yr old on top of it, so thats adding another dimension.
Anything specifically that helped you? Any products you can think of that helped with nursing while having a PICC in your arm? Or that helped keep the PICC/tubing secure while nursing or lifting LO?

On a side note its been ages since I've been here-no particular reason other than the busy-ness of life. Been taking care of myself, new baby, 4 year old, traveling, doing some on line work which is why I haven't been on the forums during therapy, but 'elsewhere'
Hi to everyone!!
(special Hi to Lauren, Rubyroselee, harriet, BeleAche, Anne (mamatoalexa who is also never here, like me!)

Congratulations on your little ones!

I'm in a similar situation (3.5 yr old and 1 yr old) and I also did a round of IV's when Bo was 6 mos. I always get the fishnet sleeves from the doctor that keep the picc line tubes "contained" so that no one pulls on them. I also ended up using some tape too because Bo's hands are busy while he is nursing and he was finding tubes to pull. Since it's the winter maybe you can keep a jacket or cardigan on between treatments to protect it. I also tried not to pick him up as much with that arm.

I also used on of those little sleeve things to keep everything contained on my upper arm. Could you wear long sleeves? I was pretty amazed becauseIf DD never really was that interested in it (she was 10 months old). I know the nurse used lots of tape, too. I know I also used to wrap my arm in Press N' Seal and tape before I showered, so maybe that's something you could do if he gets really interested in it. Good luck! I found those two weeks of IV meds to be so exhausting, I hope it goes well for you!
