Pain

Most of us with CF have some kind of pain frequently. Be it arthralgias, pleuritic pain, sinus pain or whatever. The CF docs really don't like Rx'ing pain medication. So what is one to do? Has anyone figured out a good solution? I have thought about a pain clinic, but that's another doctor to make appointments to and more mileage on my car. It just seems easier to write the bloody prescription.

I'm so frustrated, I just want to be comfortable.

I've had the same problems in the past with pain medicine. Addicts give people with real pain a bad rap, so drs don't trust anyone anymore. I take Motrin for pleuritic pain, it seems to do the job. A good heating pad also helps! I know its hard to deal with the rougher pain, I'm on the transplant list and am not allowed Vicodin or Oxycodone for the pain I have. Motrin and heat are the best I've got at my disposal! I hope you can find a solution!

Thanks guys. My ENT doc Rx'd thirty 10mg percocet yesterday. Seems it's either feast or famine. At least that will last me awhile, as 5mg is usually enough to take care of any breakthrough pain.
