Just wondering if any of you had bad acne develop while you were pregnant? Mine started up around my 8th week... wasn't bad at all, but now I am going on 19 weeks and its getting SOOO bad and painful. I have been to the dermatologist and he recommended a face wash (CeraVe) that made it worse. I have tried Cetaphil, Noxema, and finally just went back to Neutrogena Deep Clean. I have always had oily skin but never acne - and now my acne is really getting bothersome, I dont even want to leave the house!!!!!!

Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!!

I don't know about the pregnancy acne (I think I had the usually amount of zits ), but one thing that has helped my face has been changing to a mineral makeup. Washing my face twice a day always aggravated it, but the mineral makeup I can sleep in . It covers really well, and I have had less breakouts since I started using it.

If you are interested, I use a website that gives free samples (you pay shipping and handling- I think it's a little less than $4 for several sample size containers), and have very reasonable prices . I've been using them for a couple of years now.

Hi Tina,

I am normally on an antibiotic for my acne (as I have cystic nodular acne) that I started with around age 20. I never had problems with acne until this showed up. Because of me trying to get pregnant, I came off the low-dose antiobiotic and the acne just came back very quickly. My derm put me on a topical antibiotic that is safe during pregnancy. I think it's erythromycin or something like that. It doesn't work as well as the pill, but I think it's better than doing nothing at all. My facial skin is just a mess anyways with redness and scars. Thank goodness for makeup!

there's also a face wash called phsiderm. it's in a green bottle. you should be able to find it at wal mart. but sometimes i have a hard time finding it. but it's the only thing that works for me.
